Reza Ashtari

"As a child, I grew up surrounded by carpets. From an early age, I was fascinated by the art of carpet weaving. The vibrant colors and intricate patterns intrigued me, fueling my desire to uncover the symbolism and stories behind each carpet. Consequently, I developed an immense passion for this profession.

With my father as my mentor, I was taken everywhere and exposed to carpets in various interiors. This introduced me to the enchanting yet complex world of carpet artistry, transforming mere fascination into deep inspiration.

We embark on journeys to countries in all four corners of the world in search of the most beautiful carpets, kilims, cushions, poufs, tent bands, and antique textiles. Our quest leads us to ancient bazaars, modern weaving studios, and traditional nomadic tribes. In some places, time seems to stand still, while in others, the atmosphere is buzzing with technological and artistic advancements. With utmost care, we meticulously expand our collection, cherishing each piece we acquire."

As the second of three daughters, I grew up in a 'mixed creative nest.' My father is Belgian, and my mother is of Chinese origin. Thus, I was raised with influences from both cultures - a mix of the stubbornness of a bull and the playfulness of a monkey.

My background lies in the communication sector, where I worked as a designer for ten years. And then, I met Reza... Along with him came his immense passion for the art of carpet weaving. Soon enough, 'his' passion became 'our' passion. Today, we join forces, inspiring and supporting each other in our shared journey of creative exploration.
